Cable Assembly Test and Inspection
Quality Assurance is an Integral part of all the work Sherwood Electronics
Undertake.
All cable assemblies produced in-house by Sherwood Electronics are 100% inspected prior to despatch working to our ISO 9001:2015, IPC-WHMA- A-620C and UL certifications to ensure that each cable assembly meets the requirements specified on the customer drawing.
Critical aspects of every cable assembly are fully inspected to Sherwood set inspection procedures including, continuity testing, solder joints, crimp termination quality, crimp pull test, crimp housings, length +/- tolerance, sleeving and stripping, every critical aspect of each cable assembly set in the Sherwood inspection procedure is checked to ensure there are no failures when the customer installs the cable assembly into their finished product.
From standard IDC assemblies to bespoke cable assemblies for the Rail, Military, Automotive and Aerospace industries we have the test and inspection procedures in place for every type of cable assembly utilising our quality inspection procedures before, during or after the production process.
We believe Cirris Systems are the best cable testing products available.
Sherwood Electronics have invested heavily in Cirris test equipment over the last 20 years.
We have recently invested in the new Cirris CR guided assembly system that tests while you build.
The system supports guided assembly with on-screen connector images highlighting proper cavity positions, guidance LEDs on the assembly board, and immediate graphical and audible feedback to catch errors as they occur.
Their test equipment ensures that the cables, wires, and harnesses are tested on quality products to guarantee functionality and accuracy.
For more reference material please see the attached CR test equipment brochure or click on the Cirris systems CR instruction video.
From 100% visual inspection to testing for continuity and short circuits at each connection, Dielectric withstand test / Hipot DC or AC insulation tested. Sherwood has the test and inspection procedures in place to produce a wide range of quality tested cable assembly solutions.
We maintain the highest standards, employing statistical process control, inspection, electrical tests, and quality controls at each stage of manufacture.
We offer a specialist service by meeting specific customer requirements for test and inspection on both standard and non standard Cable Assemblies.
